Korean Galaxy Note 3 Neo gets the KitKat treatment

Another Smartphone is joining the KitKat family and this time, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo Korean variant is the lucky one to get the KitKat treatment. Xperia Z Ultra GPE will get the Android 4.4.3 update soon

About a week ago, we have seen that the Sprint branded Nexus 5 gets the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update and now it looks like that the Android 4.4.3 has decided to arrive on other Smartphones too, as the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition will also get the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update soon.

All credit goes to the Bluetooth SIG and according to them, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra GPE has passed the certification for the latest version of Android which is 4.4.3 KitKat. The Sony's Phablet has cleared the certification with the build number KTU72.S1.3013.

Now we can say that the other Google Play Edition devices will soon upgrade to the latest Android 4.4.3 and this is the point to be happy for those who owns the Google Play Edition devices.

LG isai FL leaked

In the recent days, we've seen so many images and rumors about the LG's upcoming isai FL which was said to be launched in Japanese market only. Though with the emergence of this device,it is believed that LG G3 will be based on this device.

There were some images with the rumored news in which the phone was shown in blue and white color. Just like the past leaks, it's again evleaks who has leaked out the phone to be launched in pink color exclusively in Japanese market.

The device includes the Qualcomm SnapDragon 801 SoC 2.5Ghz quad core chip, 5.5 inch LCD with a picture resolution of 2560x1440 with 2GB of ram and 32GB internal storage with a support of MicroSD card slot. To give this device all the juice, a 3000mAh battery is preloaded in the device with IPX7 rating which is a complete sign of the presence of water resistance technology. The device will run on Android KitKat 4.4.

KitKat update to arrive on Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z in May

Many devices already have upgraded to the latest Android 4.4.2 and many are still standing in the waiting line and now after a long wait, the good news has just arrived for the owners of the Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Tablet Z as the KitKat treatment for these devices will be available in May or June. Yeah its a bit late, but who will compromise on the KitKat treatment?

HP brings Android to laptops with SlateBook PC

Customers have been telling Hewlett-Packard that they want laptops that run Android, so the company is rolling out the SlateBook PC to meet that demand.

The laptop will start at $399 and be available in August.

It has a 14-inch touchscreen and combines the familiar interface of Android on mobile devices “with the productivity of a notebook ... in a breakthrough design,” said Mike Nash, vice president at HP.

“It’s in a very new category. Customers told us they spend a lot of time on mobile applications.” Nash said, adding that he received many questions like “why can’t I access the Android ecosystem from the clamshell form factor?”

The SlateBook PC weighs about 1.7 kilograms, is 16 millimeters thick, has 64GB of storage, 2GB of memory, and a fully charged battery can run for nine hours. The touchscreen displays images at 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The laptop runs on an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor, which is used in HP’s SlateBook tablets. The Nvidia chip has 72 graphics cores and can handle 4K video playback.

HP has added tools so Android apps will stretch out to the full 14-inch screen size.

Both Chromebooks and the SlateBook PC are meant for those who do most of their computing on the Internet, but there are differences, Nash said. Using a browser on the Android laptop isn’t as good as on Chromebooks, which are more like desktops in that regard. But Android is used by millions of people and some want it on laptops, Nash said.

Beyond the user interface, the Android laptop will run applications such as Skype that are not yet supported on Chromebooks. Android also boasts better printer support than the Chrome OS.

HP has had to make choices in the past on whether to use the Chrome OS or Android in PCs. HP chose Android over Chrome for its Slate 21 Pro all-in-one, partly because Android was heavily customizable as an open-source OS, while features in Chrome OS were controlled by Google. HP also said that Android was cheaper to implement than Chrome OS, which had to comply with specific hardware requirements.

The laptop is expected to be shown at Computex this week in Taipei.

• Make sure that ADB is downloaded and confgured in your computer.

SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore

APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”

• Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your computer from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Also, the minimum battery life should be a minimum of 70% or else there is a risk of device getting turned Off in the middle of firmware update.

• Make sure to disable all the antivirus tools in your computer as it may hamper the process of firmware installation.

Procedure to Root and Install Custom Recovery image in OnePlus One Android Phone:

• Download TWRP Recovery image and SuperUser image in your computer and connect your smartphone to the computer with the help of original USB cable. Extract the TWRP recovery image and rename the “openrecovery-twrp-2.7.0.0-bacon.img” file to “twrp.img”

• Place the SUperUser Zip package in your device and copy the “twrp.img” file in the “platform-tools” folder.

• Head over to the folder “platform-tools” and open the command prompt by pressing “Win + R”, enter “cmd” to press enter. In the command prompt, you need to enter the below mentioned command to enter the device in the bootloader mode;

Adb reboot bootloader

• Now, once the device boots in the bootloader mode, you now need to enter the below mentioned command;

Fastboot boot twrp.img

Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

• Once the TWRP image is flashed successfully, you now need to enter the below mentioned command for rebooting the device;

Fastboot reboot

Adb reboot recovery

• After getting into TWRP menu, tap the Install button and select UPDATE-SuperSU-vx.xx.zip file. Confirm installation by sliding the confirmation slider and wait till SuperSU is flashed to your phone.

• Up next, you need to select reboot option from the System options. To check on whether the device is rooted or not, download the “Root Checker” app from the Google PLAY Store.

Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just long press the power button & reboot the device to re follow the insturctions.

Galaxy Tab S 8.4 press renders leaked ahead of official debut

Ahead of an official announcement of Samsung's rumored Galaxy Tab S series, we now have what appears to be official press images of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4. It appears that Samsung is keeping the design language of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 consistent with the flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone and with the previously leaked Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet.

At this time, no other information is available for the tablet and the images were posted on to Twitter by @evleaks.

The main rumored difference between the Galaxy Tab S series and the recently unveiled Galaxy Tab 4series earlier this year is that the Galaxy Tab S devices will utilize Samsung's AMOLED displays rather than a traditional LCD panel for the screen.

The rear of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 shows off a perforated faux leather texturing similar to what debuted on the Galaxy S5 smartphone and the device is also rumored to sport the fingerprint sensor that's integrated into the home button. Additionally, on the rear, there are two circles on the right edge of the back of the device that's rumored to accommodate a new Book Cover type flip cover for the tablet.
